Drug raids net 43 arrests on Miss. coast

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say 43 people were arrested and over $3,800 seized during a narcotics sweep on the Gulf Coast. Lt. Curtis Spiers, head of the Narcotics Task Force of Jackson County, says seven were for felonies.

He says the arrests ranged from misdemeanor possession of marijuana to felony possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

All the arrests were made in Pascagoula. Spiers says the operation was made possible by complaints, confidential informants and tips from the general public.
