WARREN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - One man is in custody after robbing a bank and leading sheriff's deputies on a high speed chase in Warren County.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace says 45-Year-Old Derrick Collins was arrested on Highway 27 south of Vicksburg.
Pace says Collins robbed the Britton and Koontz Bank on Highway 61 north at 11:30 am, then fled south in a white minivan.
Investigators say Collins threatened a teller with bodily harm before fleeing with the money.
An eyewitness gave deputies a description of Collins vehicle and they gave chase.
Deputies in pursuit, used stop-sticks to slow the van to make their arrest.
Collins is from Warren County. His criminal history was not known at the time of his arrest. The money taken was recovered, but no weapon was found.
