Mississippi native wins Biggest Loser

Jackson, MS (WLBT)- A Mississippi native was crowned Americas biggest loser tonight right here on WLBT.

Patrick House from Brandon was one of three contestants vying to be the grand prize winner. The 28 year old started the competition at 400 pounds. After six months of hard work he ended the competition at 219 pounds.

Tonight friends and fans gathered in front of their televisions to cheer on Patrick in the finale. These folks were at a friend of Patrick's in Jackson. WLBTspoke to his aunt who talked with Patrick earlier today on his way to tonight's finale.

Patsy Carrol said, "He's made quite a transformation from what he was. He's back to where he used to be.

The winner of the biggest loser receives a quarter of a million dollar grand prize. Patrick currently lives in Vicksburg with his wife and two children.

But, he has been offered a job at the Mindstream Academy in South Carolina. It is a school, scheduled to open in January 2011, that specializes in helping overweight teens.
