NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A Mississippi woman has been arrested and accused of stealing $17,000 from a casino hotel room in New Orleans.
State police say 51-year-old Tammy J. Meyer, of Golden, was booked Wednesday with felony theft.
Investigators said that early last month, a guest at Harrah's New Orleans Hotel told them the money had been stolen from a safe in his room. Troopers say they believe that Meyer was a guest in his room at the time.
She was arrested in Gulfport on Dec. 11 and returned Wednesday to New Orleans.
It could not be determined if Meyer has an attorney.
