JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Season 10 of NBC's "The Biggest Loser" is over and for the first time a Mississippian has taken the title.

Twenty-eight-year old Patrick House is back in Vicksburg preparing for the next phase of his life, moving to South Carolina and getting his family back on their feet. We talked with him exclusively as he arrived home at the Jackson Evers international airport Thursday night about losing weight and gaining a new life.

As soon as he came off the plane Patrick House was given a hero's welcome. Friends and family with balloons, and signs cheering house for a long journey that ended in victory.

"Bradley and Colten and Cayden are my life and being away from them for three  months and being on the ranch was really hard for me, but at the same time you know, you can't deny what being away form them enabled me to do. So, I've gotten my life back and I'm thankful for that every day," House said.

House says it was a trip to the state fair that made him realize he needed to change his life.

"A couple of years ago at the Mississippi State Fair Bradley and I took the boys and I wanted to go on the rides with them. I realized I was too big to ride any of the rides at the fair with my boys," House added.

He began the process of becoming a contestant for The Biggest Loser after losing his job as a sales rep in January and having to borrow money just to make ends meet. His health was also in jeopardy.

"Obesity is such a major epidemic here in the country and I'm not a super human, I'm not a super hero by any stretch. I'm just a regular guy from Mississippi who went out and got his life back under control," House continued.

He says the ranch is the perfect place to lose weight.

"Definitely when you go to the ranch it's the best condition possible for weight loss. You know you don't have to worry about your job, you don't have to worry about bills, you're just there, you eat right and you work out and then you carry all that momentum home," House said.

Patrick also revealed some changes for the show after Season 11.

"You know the show is losing Jillian Michaels after next season, after Season 11. But I'm sure the trainers that come in, they're gonna be great, and the show changes lives and its going to continue to change lives even without Jillian Michaels,"

In addition to losing almost 200 pounds and winning the $250,000 prize, Patrick also won a Ford Edge.

For him and his family this will truly be a Christmas season they will never forget.
