Mother and boyfriend charged with death of woman's child

JONES COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - A Jones County mother and her boyfriend have been indicted by a grand jury in the death of the woman's young child.

Lydia Viners faces felony child neglect charges in the death of two-year old Victoria.

Justin Blakeney was indicted on capital murder charges. The toddler died in a Jackson hospital in August after being transferred from South Central Regional Medical Center.

An autopsy revealed the little girl died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head.

Viners and Blakeney is set for arraignment on December 22nd.
