Live nativity draws nearly 600 people

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A special Christmas event draws hundreds to a north east Jackson church.

A long line of cars circled Christ United Methodist on Old Canton Road  Sunday night. Nearly 600 people drove through the church's annual live nativity.

Members of the church dressed as angels, wise men, shepherds and of course Mary and Joseph.

Each scene highlights an event surrounding Jesus Christ's birth as described in the book of Luke in the Bible.

"It is so important for everyone to get this feel for Christmas. They need to see actually watch with their own eyes and drive through and hear the story of Christ and just hear as a reminder that that's what the reason for this season is,"

This is the third year Christ United Methodist has displayed a live nativity.
