JACKSON, MS (WLBT) – For the next couple of weeks, Jackson-Evers International Airport will be quite busy. This year, a greater number of holiday travelers are expected to take to the friendly skies.
More than 38,000 passengers are booked on flights between December 20th and January 2nd.
That averages to about 2,500 passengers a day.
According to the Jackson Municipal Airport Authority, 4,400 fewer people had reservations during the same two-week period last year.
Because of the heavy travel volumes and enhanced security process, passengers should expect longer lines at security checkpoints.
