HINDS COUNTY, MS (WLBT)- Hinds County deputies and Terry police say a Jackson man may be involved in several area home invasions. 21 year old Dameon Montral Luckett is charged with five counts of house burglary in Terry and Hinds county. He also faces auto theft and two counts of felony evasion charges.
The suspect is being held at the Hinds County Detention Center tonight. Around 4:00 Monday afternoon, luckett was taken into custody on Highway-18 near Midway Road. He tried to outrun cops in a stolen SUV.
Deputies used stop- sticks to end the chase. A lucky break came earlier when a teenager saw Luckett's car at the scene of a home invasion in Cedarstone last Friday. Chief Juan Gray told reporters Tuesday, "No one knew that we had a picture of the vehicle and we got a picture of the vehicle from a teenager who recognized the vehicle didn't belong in the neighborhood."
Terry officers set up surveillance and used that picture to track the suspect down. Deputies say the case is under investigation. Luckett claims he was working in tandem with others. Lawmen say more arrests could be in the works.
