TSA Notification Card

Posted: Updated:

Jackson, MS (WLBT) - The TSA (Transportation Security Administration) has developed a new system to help certain airline passengers go through security more smoothly.

Individuals with a disability or medical condition can now use a medical notification card before going through security.  The cards were implemented last week and they allow passengers with medical conditions or disabilities to discreetly provide information about their condition to a TSA employee.

Denson Stasher with Jackson-Evers International Airport says, "What that does is it informs the screening officer that you may have a condition, you may have a device that would impact the screening process particularly when you walk through the metal detector."

The cards do not exempt passengers from going through security screening.  Visit one of the links below for more information.
