CLINTON, MS (WLBT)- A Clinton man who tried to pass himself off as a contractor will be spending some time behind bars.
35-year-old Michael Martin was found guilty this week of false pretense by a Yazoo County jury. Prosecutors say Martin was hired to repair water damage on a house in Yazoo County.
The presented the homeowner with a series of fake invoices for work he never performed. Yazoo County Circuit Judge Jannie Lewis sentenced martin to five years in prison with three suspended.
