Reminder to recycle Christmas trees

Posted: Updated:

JACKSON, MS (WLBT)- The city of Jackson also wants to remind you to recycle your trees. It's part of the city's "Save One For the Chipper" Christmas tree recycling program. Folks can drop off trees starting the day after Christmas at one of four locations around the city.

Mynelle Gardens on Clinton Boulevard in west Jackson, Parham Bridges Children's Playground on Old Canton Road in north Jackson, Sykes Park on Sykes Road in south Jackson and the Dizzy Dean museum on Lakeland Drive, next to Smith Wills Stadium.

The recycling program ends January 3. City crews will turn the Christmas trees into mulch to be used in city landscaping projects, and offered to the public at no cost beginning January 14th.
