JACKSON, MS (WLBT) –There were some frightening moments for motorists Sunday when an SUV overturned on Interstate 20.

Jackson police responded to the scene around 2:25 p.m. in the eastbound lane at the Terry Road exit.

According to J.P.D. Officer Colendula Green, the female driver of a white Toyota Forerunner said an unidentified vehicle crossed in front of her causing the sports utility vehicle to hit the guard rail and flip onto its roof.

Two unidentified women inside were transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Traffic was brought to a standstill, backing up all the way to Ellis Avenue.
