Jackson Co. marijuana case set for trial

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - Four illegal immigrants arrested last year in what was described as 1 of the largest hydroponic marijuana cultivation cases in Jackson County are tentatively slated to go to trial Jan. 24.

According to WLBT, Enrique Brito, Marcel Gonzalez, Ricardo Gonzalez and Serafin Gonzalez were indicted in May, each charged with manufacturing marijuana. They were arrested Aug. 13, 2009, after authorities received a tip about a possible marijuana grow house in west Jackson County just outside Ocean Springs.

Authorities seized a total of $500,000 worth of marijuana.
