Hattiesburg, MS (WLBT)- Governor Haley Barbour is expected to announce a major economic development project for Hattiesburg on Tuesday.
The governor is expected to announce that S.T.I.O.N. Corporation will locate in a facility in Hattiesburg.
The California- based company is involved in developing and manufacturing ultra thin solar panels for residential and government use.
It could mean as many as a thousand new jobs within six years for the Hub City.
The state legislature will be asked to approve a multi-million dollar loan to help with equipment purchase and workforce training.
