MDOT officials continue to work the accident on I-55 at Elton Road near Exit 88

JACKSON, MS (WLBT)- We have breaking news out of hinds county. At five o'clock tonight Skycopter Three captured pictures of a waste management truck that struck a bridge on interstate 55.

At this hour MDOT officials continue to work the accident on I-55 at Elton Road near Exit 88.

We have live pictures of the scene. MDOT has shut down all the northbound lanes to traffic. Motorists are being re-routed onto the frontage road and back to the interstate.

Officials are urging motorists to avoid this area until the roadway reopens.
