RALEIGH, MS (WLBT) - A Smith County city is experiencing a shakeup in it's police force. It happened in the city of Raleigh earlier this week.
Now former police Chief David Stringer says he and two of his officers were fired Wednesday evening.
Stringer says he, along with Lieutenant Joe Blakeney and Corporal Nathan Yates, were let go by city leaders.
This was after a new set of department procedures were adopted that the officers and chief did not support.
Stringer says his firing is retaliation for the recent arrest of Raleigh Mayor Bobby Maddox, who was issued a D.U.I. last month.
