Wednesday's Child - Deborah

By Maggie Wade - bio| email

CLINTON, Miss (WLBT) - In April we met a sibling group of four. They are hoping to be adopted together. In this week's Wednesday's Child, we talk with 3 year old Deborah.

She believes she can do everything her big sister and brothers do.

Deborah has a one track mind when it comes to what she wants including a forever family.

Social workers describe Deborah as shy but there was no sign of shyness when we met at Funtime Skating in Clinton.

The first order of business was finding skates that fit.

After that it was hard to keep Deborah off the skating floor.

"Do you know the ABC's? A,B,C,d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k,l,m,n and p. Now I know my ABC's next time won't you sing with me."

This is her first time skating but once she learned to stay on her feet, Deborah decided it was time to dance.

"What's your favorite color? I like green. Green? Your earrings are green."

Deborah enjoys playing with her dolls, playing dress up and spending time with Sadie, Glenn and Demiracle.

"You like being with Sadie don't you? Nods yes. Now I want to go skate."

She is wise beyond her years and though I tried to distract her long enough to have a conversation about an adoptive family, Deborah would not let me forget what she wanted to do.

"Do you do big girl things? Yeah. Like what? I like to skate."

Deborah, Sadie, Glen and Demiracle need a family willing to provide a secure, nurturing and permanent home.
