D'IBERVILLE, Miss. (AP) - D'Iberville police say the former bingo supervisor of a VFW hall has been accused of embezzling $18,000 in bingo money and her son has been arrested on a related charge of grand larceny.
Capt. Keith Davis tells The Sun Herald that officer arrested 52-year-old Sheila Ann Evans and 25-year-old Garrett Blaine Evans Tuesday.
Davis said the D'Iberville Post of Veterans of Foreign Wars contacted police in December regarding money missing from the bingo account.
Sheila Evans and her son are being held at the Harrison County jail.
Justice Court Judge Bruce Strong set their bonds at $25,000 each.
It was not immediately known whether the suspects have attorneys.
