Jackson police cruiser wrecks responding to a three car pile up

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A Jackson Police officer was sent to the hospital after the officer's patrol car crashed in a ditch. This happened Friday night just before 10:00 p.m. on West Woodrow Wilson and Powers Avenues.

According to JPD Officer Colendula Green, a white Chevy Lumina, a gold Toyota Camry and a gold Infiniti were all involved in the wreck. The officer was responding to the three car pile up.

Officer Green said how the patrol car ended up in a ditch or its involvement in the wreck is still under investigation. She said the driver of the Camry was taken to UMC along with the officer who had minor pain.
