JACKSON, MS (WLBT)- A shooting and carjacking occurred in broad daylight near the campus of Jackson State University.
It happened at the corner of Shirley and Cleveland avenue.
Police said it all happened around 1:00 Saturday afternoon.
Three men were traveling in a 1996 white Nissan Sentra. When they came to a stop sign one of the men, who goes by the nickname "Chico," pulled a gun on the other two.
He directed the driver, 51-year-old Darrel Gray, and the passenger, 33-year-old Eddie Lee, to get out of the car.
He then shot Lee in the hip and the arm.
Lee was taken to the University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Jackson police are now looking for the stolen white Nissan Sentra.
