HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLBT)- A man was hit and killed by a train on the Gulf Coast.

Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove identified the victim as 37-year-old Shawn Campbell.

Campbell was running with a friend last night when he tried to beat an oncoming train after they reached the railroad tracks.

He suffered multiple blunt force injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
