First commercial van rolls off Nissan assembly line

MADISON COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - The first 2012 Nissan NV commercial van rolled off the assembly line at the Canton manufacturing plant Wednesday, marking the official launch of the plant's 2 year, $118 million expansion to accommodate the new production.

Gov. Haley Barbour, First Lady Marsha Barbour, and numerous Nissan officials were on hand for the launch and celebration.

The Nissan NV will be available in two models: standard roof and high roof.

Most people will be able to walk, stand, and work in the cargo area.

The fuel-efficient engine will be viable in V-6 or V-8.

Price starts at $24,590.
