MABEN, MS (WLBT) - Since Mississippi banned over the counter sales of pseudoephedrine, MBN is cracking down on more meth manufacturers crossing state lines to purchase the drug's main ingredient.

The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics took three people in Webster county into custody at a house where investigators said methamphetamine was being made.

Forty three year old Bobby Gaskin and 44-year-old Reba Perkins of Maben are charged in connection with the manufacture of meth.

They were arrested at 257 Elmore Road in Maben.

Gaskin is charged with manufacture of methamphetamine and conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

Perkins faces conspiracy charges.

Twenty-eight-year old Michael Harden of Tupelo was also arrested,

He is charged with manufacture of methamphetamine and conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.

Investigators said the pseudoephedrine was purchased in Memphis, Tennessee.

A tip led authorities to the location of the meth lab where they also found other items in the Maben house used to produce meth.

Pseudoephedrine, an active ingredient in some cold and allergy medicines, is the key ingredient used to illegally produce methamphetamine.

Since July 1, 2010 it has been available only by prescription in Mississippi.
