One person injured in Simpson County shooting

SIMPSON COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - Simpson County Sheriff's deputies were searching Saturday for a person of interest in a shooting that left one person injured. It happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday in a rural area on Dan George Road, just east of the Mendenhall city limits.

According to the Simpson County Sheriff's Department, one person was shot and transported by AMR to University Medical Center. Sheriff's officials said they are looking for a person of interest, but did not give an identity or description.
