COPIAH COUNTY, MS (WLBT) – A Louisiana man died in Copiah County while on a hunting trip with friends.

Sixty four year old Ronald G. Landry of Marrero, Louisiana was found at the base of a deer stand in the woods Saturday according to Copiah County Coroner Ellis Stewart.

Landry had traveled to meet with friends at a deer camp on Highway 547 in western Copiah county.

Friends told investigators that Landry left around 3:30 and when he had not returned by dark they grew concerned and began a search.

The south Louisiana hunter was not responsive when they found him beneath a tree.

He was revived twice but died before being air lifted to University Medical Center.

The coroner said Landry had a previous heart condition.

No foul play is suspected.
