
COPIAH COUNTY, MS (WLBT) – A Louisiana man died in Copiah County while on a hunting trip with friends.
Sixty four year old Ronald G. Landry of Marrero, Louisiana was found at the base of a deer stand in the woods Saturday according to Copiah County Coroner Ellis Stewart.
Landry had traveled to meet with friends at a deer camp on Highway 547 in western Copiah county.
Friends told investigators that Landry left around 3:30 and when he had not returned by dark they grew concerned and began a search.
The south Louisiana hunter was not responsive when they found him beneath a tree.
He was revived twice but died before being air lifted to University Medical Center.
The coroner said Landry had a previous heart condition.
No foul play is suspected.
