Children in foster care learn to be patient.

Some of them wait years for a permanent home.

But one of the hardest things is getting their hopes up only for them to be disappointed.

Kristopher, 11, was featured last August on Wednesday's Child.

He is a very giving person and he is hoping a forever family will give him a chance.

Kristopher is well rounded.

He likes sharing his video games and toys with other children.

"I'm a generous person. Generous, okay. What else? I try to be nice to people. Very good. What else? I like to share things."

Kristopher is also very mannerable.

He is an honor roll student.

His favorite subjects are math and science.

"Why do you like math? I like to solve the problems."

Sports are a favorite pastime but basketball is where his heart is.

"What do you want to be when you grow up? NBA, National Basketball player. Wow, which team in the NBA? Lakers."

Kristopher also enjoys swimming, baseball, football and soccer.

He is adding golf to the list.

Kristopher is not worried about his forever family playing sports but he is hoping his new family will have a pet or allow him to have one.

"What kind of pet? Any kind of pet. Any kind of pet? Dogs? Yes mam. Do you like cats? Not really. Not really cats. What about horses? Nods no.. Not horses, too big? Mmm..hmm. What else? What other kinds of animals? A parakeet."
