Man dies from dog attack in Pontotoc Co.

PONTOTOC, Miss. (AP) - Authorities are investigating a dog attack that resulted in the death of a 51-year-old Pontotoc County man.

Sheriff Neal Davis tells the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal that Ronnie Waldo was killed when three pit bull dogs attacked him Wednesday afternoon at a home in Pontotoc. Davis said Waldo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Davis said at least 2 of the three dogs were shot and killed by deputies after being aggressive toward them.

The sheriff said the case is still under investigation and would not provide any more information.
