Arrest made in Gulfport slaying

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - A 21-year-old Gulfport man is in custody on a $2 million bond, charged with murder in the shooting death of 25-year-old Kyle Oatis.

Gulfport police Sgt. Damon McDaniel tells The Sun Herald that Justin Holmes surrendered on Sunday after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Other details, including a possible motive for the killing, were not immediately released.

McDaniel said police first started investigating after receiving a report of a shooting Saturday in a residential area of Gulfport.
