Man dies in Pontotoc County wreck

PONTOTOC, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say a 39-year-old Pontotoc man died from injuries sustained in a one-car accident.

Mississippi Highway Patrolman Ray Hall said troopers responded to the accident at the intersection of state Highways 9 and 341 in Pontotoc County about 3:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Hall said Kenneth J. Underwood was taken to North Mississippi Medical Center where he later died. He said Underwood apparently failed to stop at the intersection and collided into an embankment.

Hall said Underwood was not wearing a seat belt.
