JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The man who fled after causing a wreck on I-20 Wednesday, is being held in the Rankin county jail on $500,000.00 bond.

Yesterday afternoon as Skycopter 3 reporter Mary Weiden was filing her traffic report in the 5-pm newscast, she spotted this rear-end collision.

46-Year-Old Patrick Bernard Myers was caught on camera exiting a Chevy Trail Blazer, then walking away from the accident along I-20 westbound, apparently talking on a cell phone, until he hitched a ride on state street. WLBT staff alerted both Jackson and Richland police.

Minutes later they caught up with the pair at the Deluxe motel off Terry road. Myers was arrested and charged with leaving the scene, driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance, resisting arrest, and property damage.
