Weather cancels flights out of Jackson

 JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The winter weather blast is affecting flights at the Jackson Evers International Airport.  There have been 22 cancellations of arriving and departing flights Thursday. 

Eight more cancellations have been announced for Friday morning.  Airport officials said the runways at the Jackson-Evers International Airport are clear despite the icy precipitation.  The cancellations are due to bad weather in other areas of the country.

"Continental Express Airlines has canceled all their flights today(Thursday). US Air has canceled their late flights.  Delta Airlines has canceled their late flights.  American Eagle has canceled their late flights.  Some of the other airlines, Southwest is also looking into the current conditions and looking at what impact there will be on their flights," said Denson Stasher, Jackson-Evers International Airport Director of Operations and Security.
