Jackson woman pleads guilty to bribery

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A Jackson woman pleads guilty to bribing a public official.

On Thursday 63-year-old Rene Coleman admitted in federal court to paying an IRS employee $2,000 cash.

During a routine audit, Coleman offered the money in exchange for having the amount she owed the IRS reduced.

Coleman will be sentenced on April 27th. She faces a maximum penalty of 15-years in prison and a $250,000.
