JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - When preparing for Sunday's Super Bowl Party AMR wants to remind you to keep your guests safe by preventing DUI crashes.

American Medical Response officials say drunk driving crashes escalate after Super Bowl games.

Recent reports indicate there are more DUI crashes on Super Bowl Sunday than News Year's Day and the Fourth of July.

Party hosts are urged to identify the designated driver in the group and making sure they do not consume any alcohol.

Designated drivers should be provided with non-alcoholic alternatives.

"Research indicates that the hours immediately following the big game are the deadliest if not the deadliest of the entire year for dui crashes," said Jim Pollard of American Medical Response.

Party hosts should also remove flower pots or any obstructions on walkways so guests won't trip over them.

AMR also reports seeing a number of injuries related to walking under the influence.
