JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - There's a new face being added to Mississippi's political scene. Businessman Dave Dennis announced his candidacy for Governor Monday on the coast.
On Tuesday, the Republican candidate brought his message to Jackson, as part of a five-day campaign kick-off tour.
Dennis says if elected for Governor, his top two priorities will be improving education and bringing stable jobs to the state. He says his experience in the private sector will help him create jobs for Mississippi.
"You need to give them an environment they know that they're going to have predictable regulatory environments, predictable tax environments, they're going to have the ability to protect their investment that's what the private sector lives every day," said Dennis.
Dennis will make 21 stops across the state during his five-day tour.
