LINCOLN COUNTY, MS (WLBT) - The Lincoln County Sheriffs Department and School District are investigating a student assault. The incident happened at Enterprise School last Thursday.

The video shows student Michael Young walking down a hallway, when he is jumped on from behind by four other students. Young suffered minor injuries.

The four students involved have been suspended pending a hearing with the school district and youth court.

They were all charged by assault by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department who is conducting a separate investigation.

"I'm sorry but they're gonna pay for it," says Mary Young, Michael's mother.  She has pulled her son out of school since the incident.

Enterprise Principal Shannon Eubanks says, "Whatever legally, ethically, statutory we can do and were going to one, deter this from even happening again, to make sure those individuals responsible are dealt with, were going to do that."

A hearing for the individuals involved will be held next week.
