JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Within the past week, three people have contacted Three On Your Side about the mysterious disappearance of their tax refund checks.

Today two Jackson women cried foul. They claim speedy tax on Ellis Avenue gave more than 7-thousand dollars in refunds to a stranger.

Another person who allegedly stole their identification then claimed their tax refunds from this business.

According to these women their refunds were cashed at A-1 Check Cashing. Latonya Greenwood said she was supposed to get a second check for 15 hundred dollars.

"They told me that someone was in possession of my ID," said Greenwood. "That's what they kept telling me and who do you think that someone is? It couldn't be nobody because I'm the only owner possessor of my own ID."

The owner of Speedy Tax says the women came in, showed identification and received their tax refunds.

Tysha Stewart said despite their claims, the women will not get a second tax refund.

Police are investigating and reviewing surveillance video.
