JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - It took Jackson Police less than a half-hour to solve a mid-day bank robbery in a busy shopping area. It occurred at the Trustmark Bank at 13-51 Northside Drive.

Police say just after one this afternoon, a man walked into the bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. The robber ran from the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Working off witness descriptions, police tracked the robber to the Books-A-Million store on the I-55 Frontage Road. Within minutes they had their man in custody.

He is identified as 44-year-old Christopher Watson. Officers also recovered the cash he took from the bank.

Watson was not armed when he committed the robbery.
