JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Illegal guns and drugs are still a problem on the streets of Jackson and Hinds County, but a series of undercover operations have put a dent in the problem.
Hinds County sheriff's deputies displayed the results of their months-long investigations.
Deputies removed 15 high powered semi-automatic and assault weapons and a variety of illicit narcotics and contraband from the streets.
More than $50,000 dollars cash was also recovered.
Hinds County Sheriff Malcolm McMillin said, "This is a result of 6 separate investigations. So, it may've started with a tip from a prostitute; collaboration with one; a controlled buy, but it all came back to what you see on this table."
McMillin also pointed out 15 gallons of syrup, a narcotic drink that has gained in popularity on the streets.
So far, ten people have been arrested on a variety of charges.
