MEMPHIS, TN (WMC-TV) - An ITT Technical Institute student was charged Friday with stalking and harassing instructors at the college.

Sheriff's investigators said  26-year-old Kevin Greer of Oakland, Tennessee sent inappropriate message via Facebook and e-mail.

According to an affidavit of complaint, one instructor told investigators the messages sent to him were "racially charged."

While not direct threats, the messages were considered to be "disconcerting."

One investigator told Action News 5 the messages from Greer to a female faculty member were sexual in nature.

Investigators said Greer has not been on campus since November 2009.  They said the messages started the following March.

Greer is accused of harassing and stalking the instructors through at least last August.  He was arrested and charged Friday morning.

ITT could not discuss a pending investigation or shed light on why Greer may hold a grudge against the school.

Greer is in jail on a $10,000 bond.  Calls to his family in Oakland were not immediately returned.
