EDWARDS, MS (WLBT) - A Hinds county pedestrian lost his life after being hit by a vehicle.

Edwards Police Chief Louis Johnson said 55 year old Terry Lee White was killed on Utica Street.

Police received the call around 12:30 Saturday morning.

Witnesses told officers that White was walking in the middle of the street when he was struck by a 1999 Chevrolet pickup.

According to Chief Johnson that truck was driven by James A. Jefferson.

Both men live in Edwards.

Jefferson told investigators he did not see White walking in the street.

Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham Stewart said White died of blunt force trauma.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
