JACKSON, MS (WLBT) -  It was an action packed morning for students at Walton Elementary school. Three hundred third through fifth graders participated in a number of fun fitness activities. The workout was led by fitness expert Paul Lacoste and state representative Mary Coleman.

Representative Coleman is one of dozens of lawmakers who participate in the "Fit for Change" challenge--where local leaders are apart of a twelve week workout regime. During week five, Coleman lost the most weight and won $500. Today the representative donated that money to Walton.  Coleman hopes the students are encouraged to begin living healthier lifestyles.

"I think that they were enthused about what I said and what we did with them this morning and I think that each one of them is going to make a commitment to start living a healthy lifestyle, I told them to put away the chips and the soda and to start eating healthy," says Representative Coleman.

Walton's principal says the school will use the money to put together a "Healthy Kids Day," in May.
