CLINTON, MS (WLBT) - If you want to learn more about protecting your heart, you're invited to come on down to a free seminar taking place at the Baptist Health-Plex in Clinton.
Now, there's no denying that working out regularly helps prevent cardiovascular related illnesses like coronary heart disease. However, another cardiovascular related illness called heart valve disease, which disturbs the normal flow of blood through your heart, is often genetic, so exercise won't prevent the illness.
But working out can help limit the impact of the disease.
"Even if you're unfortunate enough to get heart disease or heart valve disease if you're fit, if you're in good health and taking care of that and possibly going through an operation or other procedures it's going to be that much easier and the recovery will be better" said Dr. William Harris.
If you'd like to learn more about heart valve disease, cardiovascular surgeon Dr. William Harris is hosting his free seminar from 11:45am to 12:30pm.
