JSU students evacuated for gas leak

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - A construction crew working on a parking lot at Blackburn Middle School broke a gas line this afternoon. It happened around 3pm, as Blackburn was dismissing classes for the day.

The leak also forced students to be evacuated the Jackson State Student Center. 

Atmos Energy spokesman Robert Lesley says the leak has been stopped and workers should finish repairing the line by around 10:00 tonight.
