Financial aid forms at your fingertips

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - "College Goal Sunday" helps gear up high school students for college in the fall. This year, it was held on a Saturday.

At Bailey Magnet High School and a few other schools around the metro this weekend, college financial aid specialists and recruiters met with students seeking to learn more about paying for college.

The "College Goal Sunday" event also includes assistance in completing the free application for federal student aid.

Many of the students know that grants and loans are available, but they're not sure how to apply, or if they're eligible.

"(These events) allow us to come out on a Saturday morning, help students who might be lacking as far as college preparation, help them jump start getting enrolled for the fall semester," says Reggie Harris, Recruitment Coordinator for Hinds Community College.
