JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - While serving you a free short stack of buttermilk pancakes, I-Hop's across the country are hoping to stack up donations for the Children's Miracle Network. I-Hop chefs are whipping up batters and batters of pancake mix. They are serving tons of pancakes for national pancake day. All of the short stack buttermilk pancakes are free until 10 p.m. tonight.
Now, national pancake day isn't all about the free pancakes. It's actually about helping the community out. If you order the short-stack you're asked to donate some cash to the Children's Miracle Network, for the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children.
John Clark Packer, a former Children's Memorial Network patient, says "it all adds up no matter how much money you give even when you donate just to get a short-stack of pancakes you're helping out because without people donating we wouldn't have advancements in medicine and technology and be able to treat illnesses and diseases like we can today."
All of the money raised in Mississippi from national pancake day will help buy new equipment at the Blair E. Batson Hospital for Children.
