JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - One man was hospitalized overnight after a shooting at a Jackson nightclub.

This is the same night spot where another man was attacked late last week.

Police are still looking for the men who opened fire at the club.

According to some eyewitnesses, the shots were actually fired inside the nightclub doors.

Jackson Police say shots were fired outside the Purple Passion club in the 3700 block of Medgar Evers Boulevard.

The shooting happened just before 3:00 AM.

Police say two male subjects who were trying to get into the club were denied entry.

Eyewitnesses say the men began firing rounds into the club as they fled the scene.

Police later learned that a man identified as Anthony Reed claimed he was shot inside the club.

"I'm just thankful I wasn't killed," said Reed.

Reed was driven to a hospital by a friend, and now has a bullet lodged in his hip.

On Saturday morning, a man was found slashed in the parking lot at the club.

He claimed he was attacked by another man there, after dancing with his girlfriend.

Police have not made any arrests in either of these cases.
