Booneville beats Corinth for 3A title

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Keldrick Lesley scored 19 points, Tre Welch and Darius Leach each added 16 and Booneville beat Corinth 60-55 on Thursday for the Class 3A boys state basketball championship.

Booneville (28-7) won its first state title since 1963 by shooting 21 of 36 (58.3%) from the field and out rebounding Corinth 35-28.

Corinth (30-5) led 29-24 at halftime and 42-41 at the end of the third quarter, but Booneville outscored the Warriors 19-13 in the fourth quarter. Four Corinth players scored in double figures, led by Deione Weeks' 15 points.

Roderick Gaines scored, Deonta Herman scored 12 and Steven Polk added 11.
