Uncle Shoots Teenage Niece

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - Jackson Police have arrested a man accused of shooting his 17 year old niece.

Officer Colendula Green says around 7:20 Thursday night in the 500 block of Earl Street, 44 year old Freddie Ammos was involved in an argument with his niece.

When her boyfriend tried to intervene, Ammos fired a shot at the teenager hitting her in the calf of her leg.

She was taken to University Medical Center.

Ammos is being charged with aggravated assault.
