Jackson, MS (WLBT) - A group of people taking part in Jackson's amnesty program called 3 On Your Side upset Friday night. WLBT received several calls saying Amnesty Day was cut short after officials shut the doors on the program over an hour before it was supposed to end. The two day event was scheduled until eight Friday night,  but several people standing outside said they were being turned away before then, including Shanda Culley who wanted to pay a speeding ticket.

"They wouldn't let anybody else in, stating that they had too many people and they felt like if they let anybody else in the door that they may not get out until 11 o'clock at night. But I'm really just feeling like its unfair right now and that they're refusing payment because if this is Amnesty Day they're supposed to be well equipped with staff", said Culley.

3 On Your Side contacted the City of Jackson. Spokesman Chris Mims said they shut it down momentarily to assess the situation.  The doors were reopened and they continued. The program allows people with certain misdemeanor fees and traffic cases to have costly warrant and administrative fees waived.
